Do you know the meaning of the word "quit?" Do not ask any of the 12 girls on the Division 2 Junior Girls' Volleyball team, because they could not tell you. The ladies played their first game of the season against the York School. Right from the start, York School dominated, winning the first two sets very easily. It looked like it would be a quick loss, but the girls continued to stay positive and supportive of each other. This attitude paid off as we won the next two sets, meaning we had to play a fifth and final set to determine the match winner.
Did this end like many fairy tales, with our Lions coming back from a two to zero deficit to win the match? Well, we know that sometimes things do not end the way we want them to end. But, do not fret as the fight in our girls would not let defeat be a possibility. They dominated the last set and won the match three sets to two.
What an amazing and exciting start to the season. Coaches White and Podlovics are extremely proud of how everyone worked together to earn the victory.
