U14 Boys Soccer Squeeks out tie to stay undefeated

Whoa... what a game!

Coach Quinn is doubly proud of the boys on the U-14 Soccer team.

First, Coach loved the effort the entire team put into the Terry Fox run and he is incredibly proud that they didn't hold back, despite having a game an hour after the end of the run.

Second, the entire team refused to quit against a very tough Ridley Team. Our Lions battled back, not once, not twice, but three times to earn a well deserved 4-4 draw.

There were a number of moments that could be talked about, but the highlight of the game came down to the last 2.5 minutes of the second half. RIdley, scored to take a 4-3 lead with less than 3 minutes left in the game. Despite the initial frustration, the boys refused to quit. Quicky grabbing the ball out of goal, they sprinted to center to restart the game. They methodically worked the ball back up the pitch and were rewarded a corner with less that 20 seconds left. A great corner was delivered, which curled perfectly in to the center of the box and Kai Louie redirected it into the net with, literally, the last kick of the game.

There were so many amazing performances but a special shout out to Ethan Esteireiro, who made incredible runs from the back to apply pressure against Ridley's back line. Kai who finished with 3 goals. And finally, Mateo Diplacido, who made save after save against a talented Ridley offense.

As always, it was an entire team effort with every person contributing to an amazing game.

Way to go!!
