The Varsity Boys Flag Football team played their first home game of the season against Greenwood College School yesterday. GCS has typically been a very difficult opponent so the boys knew they were in for a tough day.
GCS scored and early touchdown but CPC came back with one of their most complete drives of the season. Ryo Han led the drive at QB, finishing it with a terrific pass to Mateo Georgy. Unfortunately, GCS came back with two touchdowns and led 19-7 at halftime.
CPC's defense started the second half on defense and could not containt GCS's potent offense. Justin Erlick however got the momentum back with a huge kickoff return but then GCS scored again. Erlick again put CPC on the scoreboard with a big pick 6 on a 3rd and 2. In the end, CPC fell 39-19.
The team is off next week and will travel to De La Salle on Oct 15 in search of its first win.
