The Varsity Boys Hockey team headed north to LCS yesterday along with the Jr Boys D2 Basketball team. The boys were looking to rebound after a tough stretch.
Playing with only 9 skaters, and Will Gomez being called up in goal from the Jr team, the boys played with grit and determination.
After both teams traded chances, LCS scored 2 quick goals later in the first. CPC continued to battle and eventually, Damon Walton got his first CPC goal to make it 2-1. LCS would answer to restore their 3-1 lead and then add one more in the third.
CPC continued to battle and eventually got a 2 man advantage where Ethan Tran also scored his first goal as a Lion. Down 4-2, the Lions came close to making it a 1 goal game but LCS scored with under 4 minutes left to make it 5-2. Ben Mahraj answered in the last minute making it 5-3, but too little too late.
The coaches were very proud of their efforts and hope this game builds momentum to a strong finish to the season.
