Yesterday, Crestwood hosted Appleby for the first game of the girls' soccer season, and their first in D1.
It was a slow start as the team worked to find its rhythm, but Crestwood settled in and took control of the first half. Goals from Kyla Sylvester and Mia Meyer gave the team a 2–0 lead going into halftime. The group looked organized and confident.
Appleby came out strong in the second half and put a lot of pressure on, managing to tie the game 2–2. Crestwood stayed calm and didn't panic, continuing to play together and stick to the plan.
As the game went on, Crestwood found its energy again and pushed forward. Kyla Sylvester had a standout performance, scoring two more goals to secure the win.
It was a great team effort and a strong way to start the season. The girls have next week off and then will travel to TCS on May 4th.
Final Score: Crestwood 4 - Appleby 2
