U14 Boys Soccer Salvages a Tie at De La Salle

What a game! Coach Quinn is so incredibly proud of everyone on the U14 Boys Soccer Team.

Yesterday the boys ventured into tough territory taking on a 5-0 De La Salle team. Having walked through the rest of the league without losing points, we knew that we were going to have a battle on our hands. And boy, did the team step up to the challenge.

Taking inspiration from the Blue Jays, the team epitomized the idea of running through a brick wall for the player next to them. This translated tremendously on the field. Hard tackles. Endless support. Pinging the ball around the field with crisp passes, inspiring through balls and great finishing.

The boys jumped out to a well deserved 2-0 lead with goals from Manish M. and Ferdinand O. It was so incredibly fun and amazing to watch. They call soccer the "beautiful game" and the team showed that today.

Unfortunately, in sports as in life, some times the bounces don't go your way. De La Salle battled back scoring one goal late in the second half and after some pressure, a missed handball, and a player injury that the ref didn't call dead, the ball bounced around the box and eventually found the back of the net with 90seconds left to tie the game 2-2. An inspired run by Wesley off the kick off fell just short and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Despite the disappointment of not winning the game, the entire team knows that we are a forced to be reckoned with and are itching to get back on the field for play-offs.

A tremendous effort. And truly, a "beautiful game".
