The U14 Boys Slo Pitch team began their season yesterday as they hosted a tri meet with Royal St. George's and Crescent.

The boys took on RSGC in the first game. RSGC got out to an early 3-0 lead. But thanks to some good defense, the Lions were able to keep RSGC at bay for the next few innings, and eventually got the bats going to close the lead to 3-2 going into the final inning. Unfortunately, RSGC got some timely hits and some lucky bounces and ended upm with an 8-2 victory. The boys were pleased with the improvements made in the game and the game was a lot closer than the score indicated.

CPC then watched Crescent dominate RSGC and knew they were in for a tough 2nd game.

Crescent would take a 6-3 lead going into the 5th and final inning. The Lions then roared back, scoring 5 runs in the top of the 5th to take an 8-6 lead. Some patient at bats, timely hitting, and good base running allowed CPC to have their most productive inning of the day. However, Crescent put up a rally of their own. They cut the lead to 8-7 and then with two outs, scored 2 more runs on a double to defeat the Lions 9-8. Coach Smith and Coach Wight are incredibly pleased with the team's energy and improvement throughout the day and look forward to our next tri meet at UCC next week.
