Varsity Girls D1 Hockey Shuts out BSS

The Varsity Girls hockey team took on BSS yesterday in the team's home opener at Fenside Arena. The girls started well and slowly began to tilt the ice in their favor. Their efforts were rewarded when Neve Thatcher scored to make it 1-0. The girls got a couple of PP opportunities later in the first but could not capitalize, allowing BSS to hang around.

But CPC was not discouraged. They continued their strong play and Avery Horst made it 2-0 late in the 2nd. The girls continued to pepper the BSS goalie with all she could handle and eventually Neve Thatcher scored her 2nd of the game, this was shorthanded, to make it 3-0. Andie McLean added two assists and Avah Sedore got the shutout.

The girls will head to Brooklin next Tuesday where they look to reclaim the Brooklin High School Tournament title.
